Lisianthus

Our yearly production of Lisianthus allows us to continuously supply customers with this gorgeous flower. Lisianthus belongs to the Gentianaceae family, and have many nicknames such as, Prairie Gentian, Texas Bluebell, Tulip Gentian, Bluebells and Lira de San Pedro. The preferred climate for Lisianthus to grow is warmer temperatures. At Slaman’s we focus on growing the double form of Lisianthus this means that each flower has a double row of petals. Lisianthus bloom with only a few flowers at a time, which allows for a longer showing of blooms. We grow a variety of colours year round.

Lisianthus grading:
Our Lisianthus line is meticulously graded to provide the best look possible.
We have three categories:

Large Lisianthus:
Strong, straight stems
3-5 open blooms with multiple buds per stem
Length of 65-75 cm
10 stem bunches with protective sleeve, 5 bunches per pail
Bunch will be uniform in weight, size and presentation

Second Grade:
Strong, straight stem
2 or more open blooms with multiple buds per stem
Length of 55-65 cm
10 stem bunches with protective sleeve, 5 bunches per pail
Bunch to be uniform in weight, size and presentation

Third Grades:
Thin stems, not always straight
1 or more blooms per stem
Length of 55cm or less
10 stem bunch, 5 bunches per pail
